I danced with the Boyle School and then with the O'Shea School. As well as winning the Great Britain Championships, and placing at World Championships, I also enjoyed performing at folk festivals across Europe.
In 1994 I was part of the original 7 minute interval act at the Eurovision Song Contest that became “Riverdance – The Show”. I toured as both a troupe dancer and Dance Captain with Riverdance, finishing with the Broadway in 2000.
My mother, an Irish Dancing teacher, introduced me to dancing. Needless to say as a lad in England, Irish Dancing was not seen to be the “coolest” activity, but I stuck at it and enjoyed success on the competitive scene.
In 1996, I joined Riverdance in London and toured throughout USA, Mexico & Australia. In 2000, I stopped touring, but performed with the Riverdance Flying Squad as Principal Dancer for a further 6 years.
I started dancing when I was 5 years old and I was addicted overnight! Over the next 8 years, I participated in competitions all over Ireland including the All-Ireland and Leinster Championships. I also participated in many figure dancing competitions including the All Ireland Championships.
My role is to assist Andrea and Martin with the school and to work with the children on dances and steps as they progress from beginner to advanced stages.
